How the count works
The count is the number of pins that are visited or lived. A pin that is want to go does not count.
The page also counts the countries of your pins. A pin that you add by hand counts in the country of the nearest city, when a city is within 150 kilometers.
The page knows about 7,300 cities and towns. The data is from Natural Earth. It is in the public domain.
When you pin a city as visited, the page can also mark its country on the world map. You can turn this off with the check box.
The street map is from OpenFreeMap. It uses OpenStreetMap data. When this page is open, your browser loads the map from OpenFreeMap. The other maps of this site load nothing from other sites.
The image that you save does not use the street map. It shows your pins on an outline of the world.
